The School of Athens is one of the most famous paintings of Italian and European renaissance by Raphael.
The painting is unique and interesting in sense that it contains many of the great thinkers till the 15th century. Thinkers like Aristotle, Plato, Socrates, Leonardo Da Vinci ,Michelangelo, Pythagoras and even great Muslim scholar of the 10th century Averroes.
Raphael’s self portrait is at the far lower-right of the fresco, the young man with brown hair staring straight out at the audience
